Teapots Fountain Sylvie Bussières, 2004
2004, Digne-les-Bains, Parc Saint-Benoît, Ceramic and water
This covered fountain produced in collaboration with a professional potter is a response to the petrifying waterfall in Saint-Benoît Park. Inspired by the forms of the organic world, Sylvie Bussières transforms everyday things by giving them a new context. The act of recycling the objects is in reference to a critique of the world of consumption, but, above and beyond this idea, her approach reveals the sensual experience of matter and form, studies concepts of time and processes, and explores the symbolic dimensions of the objects.
An artist born in Québec in 1964, Sylvie Bussières lives in Barcelona.
