L’eau coule, les pierres demeurent immobiles au fil de l’eau

This installation, whose title is taken from a Roman proverb, fits into the landscape with great finesse. The “stones” are therefore not placed just anywhere at random while waiting to be moved in the future, but have taken root with the passing of the seasons. This work takes us on a poetic journey where the four elements are inter-related. With its delicate presence, it refers us to the places to propose a new reading of them, subtly modifying our viewpoint.
Born in 1946 in Paris, Agathe Larpent lives in Thoard in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. An emblematic figure of French contemporary ceramic art, Agathe Larpent inhabits space with unique ceramic expression in which the earth is metamorphosed and the materials and colours mingle with the sole aim of arousing sensitivity.
